Abstract:
Compounds represented by formula (I) (wherein R?1¿ represents an optionally substituted aliphatic hydrocarbon, aromatic hydrocarbon, or heterocyclic group, an optionally substituted group represented by the formula OR?1a¿, or an optionally substituted group represented by the formula N(R?1b¿)R?1c¿; X represents optionally substituted methylene, nitrogen, sulfur, or oxygen; Y represents methylene or nitrogen; ring A represents an optionally substituted five- to eight-membered ring; Ar represents an optionally substituted aromatic hydrocarbon group; m is an integer of 0 to 2 and n is an integer of 1 to 3, provided that the sum of m and n is 4 or smaller; and when X is methylene, then Y represents optionally substituted methylene) or salts thereof. These compounds function to inhibit the production of nitrogen monoxide and cytokine. They are hence useful as a preventive and/or remedy for diseases such as heart diseases, autoimmune diseases, inflammatory diseases, central nervous system diseases, infectious diseases, sepsis, and septic shock.
