Abstract:
Provided are a substrate for a display panel and a display panel wherein an aligning material that is dripped on is prevented from flowing into a seal pattern area, in a configuration for forming an oriented film using an inkjet printer. A display area (11) wherein multiple pixel electrodes (111) are arranged in the form of a matrix, a seal pattern area (123) which is formed to surround the display area (11), and wires (116a, 117a, 118a) that can send specific signals to specific pixels arranged inside the display area (11) are provided. Slit-shaped openings (119a, 119b, 119c), which extend roughly parallel to the direction the adjoining seal pattern area (123) extends, are formed at the portions of the wires (116a, 117a, 118a) which are formed inside an area between the display area (11) and the seal pattern area (123) and the portions which are formed inside the seal pattern area (123).
