Provided is an electronic device having long life and a highly effective area. Furthermore, provided is an optical device capable of suppressing mirror visibility. Provided is a substrate for an optical device including a scattering layer having an excellent scattering characteristics and a desired refractive index while the smoothness of the surface thereof being maintained. The substrate for the electronic device provided with a substrate comprising first and second main surfaces opposing each other, and an electrode pattern formed on the first main surface of the substrate is characterized in that the first main surface is a surface which configures swell configured from a curved surface out of the first and second main surfaces, and that a wavelength (Rλa) of the swell of the surface is larger than 50 μm, and a ratio (Ra/Rλa) of roughness (Ra) of the swell of the surface which configures the swell to the wavelength (Rλa) of the swell is not less than 1.0 × 10-4 and not more than 3.0 × 10-2.
