Abstract:
Provided are: a low-cost and high-performance substrate for a superconducting wire rod; a method for manufacturing the low-cost and high-performance substrate for the superconducting wire rod; and the superconducting wire rod using the low-cost and high-performance substrate for the superconducting wire rod. A substrate (1) for a superconducting wire rod is characterized in that roughness (Ra) of one surface of the substrate (1) out of both the surfaces thereof is 10 nm or less, roughness (Ra) of the other surface is more than the roughness (Ra) of the one surface, and that the roughness (Ra) of the other surface is equal to or more than 8 nm but less than 15 nm.
