Abstract:
Provided is an inexpensive and high-performance substrate for a superconductive wire material, an inexpensive and high-performance method of manufacturing the substrate for a superconductive wire material, and an inexpensive and high-performance superconductive wire material. The substrate (1) for a superconductive wire material is characterized in that the surface roughness (Ra) of one of both the faces of the substrate for a superconductive wire material (1) is not more than 20 nm, the surface roughness (Ra) of the other face is greater than the surface roughness (Ra) of the one of both the faces, and the difference between the surface roughness (Ra) of the one of both the faces and that of the other face is not less than 3 nm and not more than 15 nm.
