Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a sugar chain array having a sugar chain immobilized thereon, which is useful for the detection of the binding between an analyte to be detected and a sugar chain; and a sugar chain array having the sugar chain immobilized thereon, which can inhibit the non-specific adsorption/binding of an analyte to be detected without the need of coating with any adsorption-inhibiting agent. This sugar chain array has a specific sugar chain immobilized thereon, and is useful for the detection of the binding between an analyte to be detected such as a pathogen of an infectious disease or a material secreted from the pathogen and a sugar chain. In this sugar chain array, when a base material coated with a polymeric compound having a unit having a primary amine group, a unit for maintaining hydrophilicity and a unit having a hydrophobic group is used, the sugar chain can be immobilized efficiently and the non-specific adsorption/binding of an analyte to be detected can be inhibited effectively.
