Title:
SULFUR-CONTAINING PROANTHOCYANIDIN OLIGOMER COMPOSITION AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2004/103988
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A process for producing a sulfur-containing proanthocyanidin oligomer having its molecular weight lowered to such an extent that absorption of in-plant proanthocyanidins through in vivo intestinal tracts can be facilitated. There are provided a health food composition and medicinal drug composition useful for the treatment and prevention of various life-style related diseases and brain damage caused by generation of active oxygen species, etc. and also useful for prevention of senile decay, which health food composition and medicinal drug composition contain the obtained sulfur-containing proanthocyanidin oligomer as an active ingredient.
