Description:
DESCRIPTION

SUMMER SHIRT GARMENT, SO-CALLEI POLO SHIRT, WITH DORSAL PROTECTION AGAINST THE WIND

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a shirt garment, for example of the so-called polo type, which is particularly suitable for sporting activities. PRIOR ART

In certain types of sporting activities, such as in particular (but not exclusively) in the game of golf, it occurs that periods of motion and activity alternate with periods of stopping and waiting which are sometimes necessary in areas exposed to the wind, which is sometimes strong. This can cause an excessive and unhealthy cooling of the body, in particular when stopping takes place after a period of activity which involves getting hot and sweating. On the other hand, in many cases it is not possible to have garments available to take off and put on, since the sporting activities themselves do not allow for carrying along encumbrances of various types, nor is it possible to carry out rapid and timely manoeuvres for putting on and taking off any protective garment; it is not even conceivable - at least in certain hot weather - to put up with garments which - although suitable for protection against the wind - are not tolerable, in particular if put on during periods of physical exercise.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to a garment which offers protection during the breaks and avoids any inconvenience during physical exercise. The garment in question is a summer shirt, in particular of the so-called polo type - which is suitable for sporting activities such as the game of golf or the like - which comprises an auxiliary fabric, inside the garment and coupled to the back part of the garment, and which is capable of protecting the back

from the wind and from the consequent cooling in the breaks in physical exercise.

In one possible solution, the auxiliary fabric is engaged on the garment with removable engagement means, by means of snap fasteners or other equivalent means. These means of engagement can be provided at the upper corners and advantageously also at the lower corners of the fabric, the upper edge of which extends approximately at the level of the lower zone of the arm-hole and the lateral edges of which extend approximately along the longitudinal lateral seams of the garment.

In another possible solution, the auxiliary fabric ends laterally and is engaged along the longitudinal lateral seams of the garment itself, and at the top with an edge which is situated approximately at the level of the lower zone of the arm-hole; said upper edge is advantageously connected to said back part of the garment. The auxiliary fabric has anti-wind characteristics, for the most part being coated with breathable material, but is nevertheless a light fabric.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The drawing shows in diagrammatic representations a non-limiting practical embodiment of the invention. In the drawing:

Fig. 1 shows the garment from the rear and sectioned in part, with the auxiliary fabric applied in a removable manner;

Fig. 2 shows the garment in a front view; Figs 3 and 4 show two sections along III-III and IV-IV in Fig. 2, and

Figs 5, 6, 7 and 8 show, similarly to Figs 1 to 4, the garment with the auxiliary fabric applied in a stable manner.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

In the two solutions, the same references are used in all the figures.

In the drawing, 1 indicates generally a light garment of the so-called polo type with a full bust IA which normally remains removed from the back, with a full open neck IB and with short sleeves IC. The garment is particularly suitable for use in the physical exercise of some sports such as the game of golf, and is very light and comfortable in particular for hot weather.

When the wearer of a garment of this type has to stop, for reasons of waiting or the like, while also being partly hot, he may suffer some harm in the event of the presence of the wind or of a reduction in temperature, for example if he remains exposed on a windy rise or in an area with extensive shade in relation to the environment passed through during the physical motion. This may cause considerable discomfort in the user such as back pain or the like. Recourse to garments to be put on extemporaneously and to be taken off every time there is a need of the abovementioned type is in many cases impossible, given the necessity during the periods of exercise of having to use the arms and not being able to tolerate carrying garments to be put on at the right time and rapidly and to be taken off just as rapidly.

The invention solves this problem by proposing a garment of the abovementioned type which does not interfere during the period of physical exercise, maintaining the characteristics of freshness of the garment, but which has the possibility of protecting from gusts of wind and the like.

The garment in question is characterized by the presence of a light but compact auxiliary fabric 3 which has anti-wind characteristics and which can if appropriate be coated with breathable material. The fabric extends in the part of the back and on the rear below the shoulders, and in particular extends from the

lower part of the arm-hole IE of the garment towards the bottom as far as the waist and beyond. The fabric 3 is connected to the garment, that is to say to the shirt, in a removable manner or in a fixed manner. According to Figs 1 to 4, the auxiliary fabric 3 is engaged in a removable manner by means of snap fasteners 5, at least two of which are positioned at the top towards the ends of the upper edge 3A of the fabric and any others in the lower part of said fabric 3; with this, it is possible to apply and take off easily the auxiliary fabric 3 in relation to the garment 1. This affords various advantages, including that of being able to wash the garment 1 and the fabric 3 separately from one another, using different procedures and detergent products.

According to Figs 5 to 8, the auxiliary fabric 3 is connected to the garment 1 along the longitudinal seam lines 7 which extend laterally below the arm-hole IE, and can be connected to the back of the garment along its own upper edge 3A also, while along the lower edge 3B the fabric 3 can be free.

As the shirt is relatively full, it offers internal space to the back of the wearer and therefore the presence of the fabric 3 does not interfere because this fabric does not adhere to the back and in particular to the backbone of the user during movement and generally during physical exercise. However, when the user has stopped and may be exposed to freshness in particular in the presence of the wind, the very presence of the fabric 3 prevents the penetration of the wind and prevents excessive heat exchange between the dorsal surface and the outside, protecting the parts of the back of the person from the risks of the consequences of sudden cooling. On the other hand, the limitation of extension of the auxiliary fabric 3 at the edge 3A, approximately at the height of the lower part of the arm-hole IE, ensures breathing by the backbone.
