Title:
SUPERCONDUCTING ELECTROMAGNET FOR CHARGED-PARTICLE ACCELERATOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1993/002537
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A superconducting electromagnet for a charged-particle accelerator comprises a cylindrical evacuated evelope (1) inside which are mounted, coaxially to its longitudinal axis (2), a vessel (3) with liquid helium (4), a superconducting winding (7) located in the latter, an evacuated chamber (13), a nitrogen screen (8) and a thermoisolation (9). In the vessel (3) with the liquid helium (4) is located a radiation monitor (16) with the liquid helium (4) as registration medium. The sensitive element (17) of the radiation monitor (16) is connected to electric inputs (24, 25) of the cylindrical evacuated envelope (1).
