Title:
SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNET, MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING UNIT, AND METHOD OF CALCULATING COOLING CAPACITY OF CRYO-COOLER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2008/007574
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An MRI unit for controlling liquid helium consumption and constantly generating static magnetic field by recognizing the heat quantity entering a helium tank of a superconducting magnet and selecting a cryo-cooler to be combined. The superconducting magnet is provided with a means of measuring the flow rate of refrigerant gas flowing out from a container with a pressure inside the container housing a superconducting coil and refrigerant kept constant, and determines heat quantity entering the container and the cooling capacity of a cooling unit by using this flow rate. When heat quantity entering the container and the cooing capacity of a cooling unit are accurately measured, a cooling unit having a cooling capacity large enough to accommodate entering heat quantity can be combined.
