SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNET, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME AND ITS MAGNETIZING METHOD

A superconducting magnet comprising a bulk body or a sheet body of type II superconducting material in which distribution of flux density component normal to the surface of the bulk body or the sheet body directly above the surface has (a) a maximum value in the central part of the bulk body or the sheet body and a value substantially equal to zero in the peripheral edge part thereof, and (b) at least one minimal point between the central part and the peripheral edge part. A superconductor is cooled down to a critical point or below while applying a field Hexl [A/m] under normal conducting state in the vicinity of a field generator and then the applying field is demagnetized to zero. Subsequently, a field is applied again until the applying field becomes -Hex2 [A/m] in the direction opposite to an acquisition flux and the acquisition flux density becomes Bin0 [T]. Thereafter, the applying field is brought again to zero, where Hexl>0 and Hex2>0.
