Abstract:
A superconducting wire rod (10) is provided with: a laminated body (20) that includes a substrate (1) having a main surface, and a superconducting material layer (5) formed on the main surface; and reinforcing layers (12) that are disposed on both side surfaces of the laminated body (20), said side surfaces being in the width direction of the substrate (1). In each of the reinforcing layers (12), an end surface positioned on the side of a bottom surface (20B) and/or an upper surface (20A) of the laminated body (20) is exposed. On a cross-sectional surface of the substrate (1), said cross-sectional surface being in the width direction of the substrate, the ratio of the total width of the reinforcing layers (12) to the width of the laminated body (20) is 1-15 %.
