Abstract:
A superconductive current-limiting element having a high sharing electric field is fabricated at a low cost. The superconductive current-limiting element comprises a superconductive thin film (3) formed over an insulator substrate, and an alloy thin-film layer (4) formed over the superconductive thin film (3) and having a room-temperature resistivity higher by two times or more than the room-temperature resistivity of a pure metal. The superconductive current-limiting element is characterized in that an overcurrent having been flowing in the superconductive thin film (3) is commutated only to the alloy thin film (4) when the superconductive thin film (3) is caused a transition to a normal conduction by the overcurrent.
