Abstract:
This support catheter comprises a distal shaft that is formed in a tube shape such that a treatment catheter can be inserted therein, and that is configured so as to include an inner layer and a reinforcing layer in which a plurality of metal wires are wound in one direction and another direction to form a tubular mesh shape; and a proximal shaft connected to the distal shaft. The reinforcing layer has a plurality of weld points at the intersections of the metal wires wound in the one direction and the metal wires wound in the other direction, the plurality of weld points being positioned so as to be unevenly distributed in the circumferential direction of the distal shaft, and a covering member being positioned on the outside of the plurality of weld points.
