Title:
SUPPORTING PIN FOR AN ELECTRICALLY HEATABLE HONEYCOMB BODY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/087616
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a supporting pin (1) for supporting an electrically heatable honeycomb body (3) on a first honeycomb body (2), wherein the supporting pin (1) has a first end region (5), a second end region (6) and an intermediate region (7), wherein the supporting pin (1) has a core (8) made of electrically non-conductive ceramic material and a metallised surface (4) on at least one end region (5; 6) and an electrically non-conductive intermediate region (7) having a length of at least 3 mm (millimetres), preferably 5 to 15 mm. Supporting pins (1) according to the invention are particularly suitable for stabilising electrically heatable honeycomb bodies in exhaust gas treatment systems for internal combustion engines, particularly for motor vehicles. With the use of higher electrical voltages, such as 48 V, for electrically heatable honeycomb bodies, good electrical isolation is also assured in exhaust gas systems carrying soot particles with simultaneous safe support and suppression of vibrations.
