Abstract:
Provided is a surface acoustic wave atomization device (1) provided with a substrate (3) on which a pattern electrode (2) to which a high frequency voltage is applied by a high frequency power supply (10) is formed and which is made of a piezoelectric material, a liquid supply unit (11) for supplying a liquid (L) onto the substrate (3), and a pair of electrolysis-purpose electrodes (4) for electrolyzing the supplied liquid (L). In the surface acoustic wave atomization device (1), the supplied liquid (L) is held between the electrolysis-purpose electrodes (4) and between the electrodes (4) and a surface (S) of the substrate (3) by using the surface tension, thereby atomizing the liquid (L) by surface acoustic waves while conducting electrolysis.
With this structure, it is possible to make the atomization device compact and atomize gas or ions that have been subjected to the electrolysis while dissolving.
