Abstract:
A surface acoustic wave atomizer (1) provided with a substrate (2) produced from a piezoelectric material, a pair of comb-shaped electrodes (21) for generating a surface acoustic wave, and a liquid supply unit (3) for supplying liquid (4) to be atomized, wherein the length (D) of engagement between comb teeth of the pair of comb-shaped electrodes (21) is ten times or less the wavelength (λ) of the surface acoustic wave (W) generated by the comb-shaped electrodes (21).
This configuration enables the increase of the amplitude of the surface acoustic wave and the reduction of the spread of the surface acoustic wave in the surface acoustic wave atomizer (1).
