Abstract:
A surface acoustic wave (SAW) device (200), the SAW device (200) includes a piezoelectric layer (304) and a transducer (204,206) having a plurality of electrodes (214). The electrodes (214) are aligned with respective longitudinal axes parallel to each other and perpendicular to a wave propagation direction (220). Each electrode (214) includes a conductive first layer (216) having a first thickness and a first width in the wave propagation direction; and a conductive second layer (218) having a second thickness that is negligible compared to the first thickness. The first layer (216) and second layer (218) are in electrical contact with each other to provide electrical conduction over a total width of the electrode (214) in the wave propagation direction (220), the total width being greater than the first width of the first layer (216).
