Abstract:
Provided is a device for measuring a surface profile of a charged material in a blast furnace, the device including an outer member inserted into an insertion hole formed in a sidewall of the blast furnace such that a transmission opening at one end of the outer member protrudes into the furnace, the device further including an inner member located inside the outer member and being movable in a longitudinal direction of the outer member, the inner member being provided with a fixed reflector and a movable reflector. During measurement, an antenna attached to the outer member transmits a detection wave to the inner member. The detection wave is sent to the fixed reflector through a detection wave guiding opening, reflected by the fixed reflector, and sent to the movable reflector. Then, a reflector inclination angle varying means and a reflector pivoting means cooperate with each other in pivoting the movable reflector to linearly or planarly scan a surface of the charged material using the detection wave.
