Abstract:
A surface extraction method, a surface extractor and a program which can enhance
extraction precision of the surface of an object. Right or wrong of a voxel constituting
an object represented in a voxel space to be sectioned into latticelike voxels
is investigated in units of voxel sequence, and the end of constituent voxels
continuous in the voxel sequence is extracted as the surface of the object. Since
a straight line sequence is employed as a unit and the intermediate portion of
the constituent region continuous in the straight line sequence is neglected,
wrong extraction of a nonconstituent region as the surface of the object can be
avoided without investigating the same region twice even if the nonconstituent
region exists in the object.
