Abstract:
A surface light source device is equipped with a point light source (23) and a light guide (24), into which light of the point light source (23) is introduced from a light incident end face (31), and from which light is emitted to the outside from a light emission face. The light guide (24) comprises a light guide body (29) and a light incident part (30) provided at the edge of the light guide body (29). The point light source (23) is disposed at a position facing the light incident end face (31), which is located at the end face of a light incident part (30). A directional converter (33) is provided along the area adjacent to the light guide body (29) of the light incident part (30). The directional converter (33) is configured by arranging a V-groove directional conversion pattern (37) in a fan-shaped array. Areas of the light incident part (30) in which the directional converter (33) is not provided have the same thickness as the light guide body (29), and the surface of said areas is configured so as to be located within the same plane as the surface of the light guide body (29).
