Abstract:
A surface light source device (1) is provided with a light guide plate (2), a resin frame (3), an optical film (4), a reflective film (5) and a light source (not shown). The light guide plate (2) and optical film (4) are disposed inside the resin frame (3) above the reflective film (5). At least one part of one side of the resin frame (3) opposite to a side of the light guide plate (2) presents an inclined or curved surface with respect to the vertical surface of the light output surface. Further, the inclined or curved surface faces towards the light output surface and therefore the light leaking from the edges of the light guide plate (2) are reflected by the inclined or curved surface of the resin frame (3) and transmitted into the liquid crystal panel. This reflects even the light leaking from the edges of the light guide plate (2) towards the liquid crystal panel.
