Abstract:
A surface light source system comprising an LED (1) as a dotty primary light source, a light guide (2) having a light incidence surface to receive light emitted from the LED and a light emitting surface (4) for guiding and outputting this incidence light, an optical deflection element (3) for controlling the direction of light emitted from the light guide (2), and a reflection sheet (6). The LED (1) is disposed at a corner of the light guide (2), and many prism rows (5) are disposed in arcuately parallel on the light incidence surface (14) of the optical deflection element (3) so as to surround the LED (1).
