Abstract:

There is provided a surface luminance which can easily be manufactured and can prevent deterioration of a light emitting layer for a long period of time. The surface luminance (4) includes: a sheet-shaped organic EL layer (1); two plate glasses (2a, 2b) arranged so as to sandwich the organic EL layer (1) at a predetermined distance and opposing each other; and transparent intermediate films (3a, 3b) filling the space between the two plate glasses (2a, 2b) and the organic EL layer (1). Each of the intermediate films (3a, 3b) has an area greater than the area of the organic EL layer (1) and the intermediate films (3a, 3b) are adhered to each other at the periphery of the organic EL layer (1).
