Abstract:
Provided is a surface-modified nanodiamond that has a high dispersibility in an organic solvent or a resin and can maintain this characteristic even in a high-temperature environment at 200°C or higher. The surface-modified nanodiamond according to the present invention has a structure wherein the surface of a nanodiamond particle is modified with a group represented by formula (1). In the formula: R1 to R4 are the same or different and represent an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1-25 carbon atoms, provided that at least one of R1 to R4 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 10-25 carbon atoms; and the bond extending out from the carbon atom is attached to the surface of the nanodiamond particle.
