Abstract:
The present invention provides a surface modifier for rubber compositions which is able to improve the appearance of the rubber compositions without impairing the ozone resistance. The surface modifier for rubber compositions of the present invention contains a hydrocarbon-based wax (B) for preventing rubber aging and an appearance modifier (C), and contains linear monovalent primary alcohols in an amount exceeding 1.5 parts by weight but less than 35 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the surface modifier for rubber compositions. The primary alcohols comprise more than 35 parts by weight of a component having 30-38 carbon atoms, less than 25 parts by weight of a component having 12-26 carbon atoms, and less than 25 parts by weight of a component having 42-68 carbon atoms, per 100 parts by weight of the primary alcohols.
