Abstract:
It is possible to provide an on-surface mounting variable resistor which can
cope with a user request for the front and the rear terminal of an insulating substrate.
The variable resistor includes: an insulating base (1) having a variable resistor
pattern (3) and electrode patterns (5,5); resistor end terminal fittings (7,7)
connected to the electrode patterns (5,5); a conductive slider (15) having a
sliding contact (15c) sliding on the variable resistor pattern (3); and an intermediate
terminal (17) having a rear intermediate terminal fitting portion (17a) and
making an electric connection to the conductive slider (15). The intermediate
terminal (17) has an extending conductor portion (17c) and a rear intermediate
terminal fitting portion (17a) arranged as a unitary block with the extending
conductor portion (17c). The extending conductor portion (17c) has a front
intermediate terminal fitting portion (17d) positioned between the resistor
end terminal fittings (7,7) and arranged as a unitary block with the extending
conductor portion (17c).
