Abstract:
A surface-traveling object (1) is characterized in being provided with: an elevating mechanism (10) to which wheels (2) are attached and which is for raising and lowering the main body (3) of the surface-traveling object with respect to the wheels (2); a biasing member (18), which biases the main body (3) of the surface-traveling object in the upward direction and causes the surface-traveling object (1) to jump; a lowering device (20) for lowering the main body (3) of the surface-traveling object in opposition to the biasing force of the biasing member (18) by means of the motive power of a motor when the main body (3) of the surface-traveling object is in a raised position; a locking mechanism (30) for locking the main body (3) of the surface-traveling object in a lowered position; and a release device (35) for releasing the locking of the main body (3) of the surface-traveling object by the locking mechanism (30) using motive power of the motor on the basis of a command from an external controller (4).
