Provided is a surface-treated aluminum material: characterized by being provided with a surface having a plurality of recesses formed thereon, and being covered with a hydrated aluminum oxide layer with a thickness of 5 nm to 1000 nm; and further characterized in that the area of the plurality of recesses is at least 15% of the surface area.
