Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a disc-shaped powder for use in a cosmetic. Said powder is surface-treated by a silicone gel and has the effect of improving the moldability and impact resistance of a powder-cake cosmetic. The present invention also pertains to a powder-cake cosmetic containing the aforementioned powder. This surface-treated powder feels smooth and light, has the moisturizing feel characteristic of silicone gels, and adheres well to the skin. When used in a powder-cake cosmetic, this surface-treated powder improves the moldability and impact resistance of said powder-cake cosmetic, is readily picked up by an applicator, and provides a pleasant feel. This powder is preferably either an inorganic powder, an organic powder, or a compound powder consisting of an inorganic powder and an organic powder. Furthermore, the aforementioned silicone gel is preferably obtained by performing a hydrolytic condensation reaction on the diorganopolysiloxane represented by formula (1), both ends of which are reactive, and an organopolysiloxane cross-linker containing one or both of the following: the silane coupling agent represented by formula (2), which has two or more hydrolyzable groups per molecule; and the reactive organopolysiloxane represented by formula (3).
