Abstract:
The present invention provides a surface-treated steel plate (1) for a cell container, the surface-treated steel plate being provided with a steel plate (11), an iron-nickel diffusion layer (12) formed on the steel plate (11), and a nickel layer (14) formed on the iron-nickel diffusion layer (12), the nickel layer (14) constituting a part of the outermost layer, wherein: when the Fe strength and Ni strength are measured along the direction of depth from the surface of the surface-treated steel plate (1) for a cell container using a radiofrequency glow discharge optical emission spectrometry, the thickness of the iron-nickel diffusion layer (12), which is the difference (D2−D1) between the depth (D1) at which the Fe strength indicates a first prescribed value and the depth (D2) at which the Ni strength indicates a second prescribed value, is 0.04−0.31 μm; and the total nickel content of the iron-nickel diffusion layer (12) and the nickel layer (14) is at least 4.4 g/m2 and less than 10.8 g/m2.
