Abstract:
The present invention is a surface treatment agent for a soft contact lens, the surface treatment agent containing a reaction product obtained by reacting a poly(meth)acrylic acid and a copolymer (P), which are both disclosed below. Poly(meth)acrylic acid: A poly(meth)acrylic acid having an average molecular weight of 1,000-2,000,000. Copolymer (P): A copolymer obtained by polymerizing a specific hydrophilic monomer (nA) and a specific reactive monomer (nB). In the copolymer, the content of the hydrophilic monomer (nA) is 80-99 mol%, the content of the reactive monomer (nB) is 1-20 mol%, and the weight average molecular weight is 10,000-5,000,000. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a surface treatment agent, for a soft contact lens, capable of dramatically improving the surface hydrophilicity of the soft contact lens and ameliorating discomfort.
