Title:
SURFACE WORKING APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/107564
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention provides for a surface working apparatus such as a floor scrubbing machine and comprising a support arranged to have a surface working element mounted thereon and to be lowered from a raised position by way of actuator (218) for contact of the surface working element (222) with a surface requiring attention, resilient means operatively disposed between the actuator (218) and the support deck (222) and through the deformation of which pressure is applied by the surface working element (222) to the said surface, a position sensor arrangement (232, 234) comprising first and second sensor elements arrangement for relative movement during operation of the actuator (218) so as to sense the position of the surface working element and to assist in the control of the operation of the actuator (218), the said first sensor element (232) being mounted on a member associated with the actuator (218) and the movement at which deforms the said resilient means, and the said second sensor element (234) being mounted at a location which moves relative to the said member only during the said deformation of the resilient means.
