Abstract:
The disclosure discloses a surgical instrument with monopolar and ultrasonic functionality, and a surgical system. The surgical instrument comprises an end effector assembly configured to apply ultrasonic energy or electrosurgical energy to a tissue, and the end effector assembly comprises: an ultrasonic blade configured to transmit ultrasonic vibration to the tissue; and a clamp arm assembly, wherein the clamp arm assembly configured to be operatively pivoted towards or away from the ultrasonic blade, comprises: a clamp pad arranged adjacent to the ultrasonic blade and configured to compress or transect the tissue clamped therebetween; a first electrode arranged at a side of the clamp pad away from the ultrasonic blade and configured to apply the electrosurgical energy to the tissue; and an insulative support member pivotally coupled to the transmission assembly and configured to support the clamp pad and the first electrode.
