Abstract:
In order to obtain with ease an image of the apical end of a surgical implement mounted to a manipulator arm even when the surgical implement is caused to bend, this surgical system (100) is provided with a plurality of manipulator arms (3A, 3B, 3C), an actuating unit (2), and a control unit (6), wherein the plurality of manipulator arms include a first manipulator arm (3A) in which a first surgical implement (41a) having an implement bending part (46) is retained by an implement retention part (36) and a second manipulator arm (3B) which has an endoscope bending part (48) and in which an endoscope assembly (42) having a camera (47) provided to the apical end thereof is retained by the implement retention part. Meanwhile, this surgical system control method is for controlling the endoscope assembly so as to bend following bending of the first surgical implement, which takes place in accordance with an action command.
