A patient support apparatus (310) comprises a base (312), a frame (316) coupled to the base (312), and a mattress (338) supported by the frame (316) and positioned to lie above the frame (316) to support a patient. A power pack (350, 372, 400) is pivotably coupled to one of the base (312), the frame (316) and the mattress (338) and is configured to supply a medium to the mattress (338).
