Title:
SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/195753
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a surveillance system in which errors in detecting an object according to a background subtraction method are reduced by setting appropriate background pixel values according to the characteristics of distribution of variations in measurement distances for each pixel. In this surveillance system, as a surveillance preprocessing, a processing section: obtains n distances from a light projection/reception unit to a target by executing scanning n times, and executes statistical processing; and, if the standard deviation σ is less than a threshold σth, employs the median value of the n pieces of distance values as the background pixel value, and if the standard deviation σ is greater than or equal to the threshold σth, employs the minimum value among the n pieces of distance values as the background pixel value. During surveillance of a target, the processing section: finds a distance value by measuring reflected light from the surveillance space; and recognizes a surveillance target if the found distance value is smaller than the background pixel value obtained by measuring the reflected light in the same light projection/reception direction.
