Abstract:

Provided is a suspension apparatus that enables improvement of ride quality and vibration control without the need to use a vehicle height sensor. This suspension apparatus 10 is provided with: a damper device 12 that generates damping force between a vehicle body 2 and a wheel 3; and a control unit 40 that controls the damping force generated by the damper device 12. The control unit 40 controls the damping force to be generated by the damper device 12 such that, in a lower limit boundary line Q drawn by a lower limit value of the damping force in accordance with the relationship between the damping force and a relative movement speed between the vehicle body 2 and the wheel 3, when the speed range of the movement speed is divided into three ranges, i.e., a low-speed range P1, a medium-speed range P2, and a high-speed range P3, the proportion of an increase in magnitude of the damping force with respect to a change in the movement speed in the medium-speed range P2 becomes greater than the proportion of an increase in magnitude of the damping force with respect to a change in the movement speed in the other speed ranges.
