Abstract:
To improve practicality of a suspension device for a vehicle, the suspension device having an electromagnetic actuator and a hydraulic damper. A hydraulic damper (18) is disposed between an electromagnetic actuator (16) and a wheel holding section (12), and the hydraulic damper has a cover tube (150) for receiving a seal (102) working between a piston rod (76) and a housing (70). The suspension device is advantageous in that it can effectively reduce not only vibration transmitted from a wheel to a vehicle body through the electromagnetic actuator but also vibration transmitted to the electromagnetic actuator. This is achieved by the fact that, for example, the hydraulic damper is disposed between the wheel holding section and the electromagnetic actuator. Further, because of the presence of the cover tube, the suspension device is advantageous also in that entry of dust etc. into the hydraulic damper through the seal is effectively suppressed.
