Abstract:
A suspension device (A) having a shock absorber (S) and a gas spring (C). The shock
absorber (S) is provided with a motion converting mechanism (H) for converting
relative motions between a vehicle body side member and an axle side member into
a rotary motion and also with a motor (M) having a rotor (8) to which the rotary motion
is transmitted. The gas spring (C) is interposed between the vehicle body-side
member and the axle-side member. The motor (M) has a hollow casing (9); a partition
member (16) for forming, in the casing (9), a rotor chamber (r) in which the rotor
(8) is contained; a tubular stator (17) interposed between the outer periphery
of the partition member (16) and the inner periphery of the casing (9); and the
rotor (8) rotatably held by the casing (9) in the rotor chamber (r). Because the
inside of the rotor chamber (r) is communicated with the inside of the gas chamber
(R) of the gas spring (C), the size of the suspension device having the gas spring
and utilizing the motor is prevented from being increased.
