Abstract:
A shock absorber of a suspension device is provided with: a pair of chambers in which a working fluid is housed; a flow path through which the pair of chambers communicate with each other and the working fluid passes with the expansion and contraction of the shock absorber; a damping force generation mechanism which applies resistance to the working fluid passing through the flow path; a bypass path which bypasses the flow path to cause the pair of chambers to communicate with each other; a variable throttle member which is inserted in the bypass path to be movable forward and backward to thereby change the opening amount of the bypass path; an actuator which has an action part disposed on the back surface side of the variable throttle member and drives the variable throttle member; and a power transmission mechanism which is interposed between the action part and the variable throttle member and transmits the linear motion of the action part to the variable throttle member.
