Abstract:
A suspension mechanism of an electric car allowing a shock absorber to be disposed therein without increasing a space in the height direction of a vehicle even if an in-wheel motor is disposed so as to be projected from the body side of a wheel, comprising the in-wheel motor (11) incorporating a drive motor so as to be projected from the body side of the wheel, a lower arm (6) having one end jointed to the lower part of the in-wheel motor (11) and the other end pivoted to the body side, an upper arm (3) having one end jointed to the upper part of the in-wheel motor (11) and the other end pivoted to the body side, the shock absorber (8) formed of a spring and a damper for attenuating the vertical movement of the in-wheel motor (11) relative to a body, and a generally L-shaped connection arm (10) bypassing the outer case of the in-wheel motor (11), wherein one end of the generally L-shaped connection arm (10) is fixed to the wheel side joint part of the lower arm (6), and the shock absorber (8) is disposed laterally between the other end thereof located above the joint part and the body side.
