Abstract:

Provided is a suspension upper member which has a novel structure and which, while limiting the ingress of water in depression areas of a base end support part, can prevent decreases in durability by quickly discharging water that has entered the depression areas. A vertically-oriented inner hole (20) is formed in the base end support part (16), and the inner hole (20) communicates with a center hole (28) in a leading end tubular part (18). At positions spaced on the outer circumference of the inner hole (20), depression areas (34) are formed that open to the top surface of the base end support part (16), and on the outer circumference of the depression areas (34) in the base end support part (16), an outer peripheral wall (38) is formed extending continuously in the circumferential direction; meanwhile, between the depression areas (34) and the inner hole (20) in the base end support part (16), an inner peripheral wall (40) is formed extending in the circumferential direction, and the depression areas (34) communicate with the inner hole (20) via water drainage grooves (44) formed in the inner peripheral wall (40).
