Title:
SUSTAINED DRUG-RELEASE CONTACT LENS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/052262
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a sustained drug-release contact lens, and more specifically, to a sustained drug-release contact lens comprising: a body having cavities spaced a set distance apart along one side surface; drug carried in the cavities; and closing parts for closing the entrances of cavities carrying the drug, wherein the closing parts biodegrade to open the cavities when the lens is worn and are formed so as to have mutually different times at which biodegradation occurs so that the cavities are opened sequentially. Thus, the sustained drug-release contact lens can discharge a set amount of the drug continuously, does not discharge the drug when in storage as the biodegradation of the closing parts are due an enzyme contained in tears, and can be reloaded.
