The present invention relates to: a terpenoid derivative which is capable of activating a Keap1/Nrf2/ARE signaling pathway and has an excellent anti-inflammatory activity and an excellent cell-protecting activity; and a sustained-release pharmaceutical composition which contains the terpenoid derivative as an active ingredient and is effective for the treatment and prevention of oxidative stress-related diseases in posterior segments of eyes. A sustained-release pharmaceutical composition which can be used for the treatment or prevention of diseases in posterior segments of eyes and can be administered topically. The sustained-release pharmaceutical composition contains the terpenoid derivative according to the present invention as an active ingredient, can keep the pharmacological activity thereof for 1 week or longer by releasing the terpenoid derivative in a sustained manner under physiological conditions, contains a base material that can be administered to a vitreous body, and has a dosage form that can be administered to a vitreous body.
