Description:
A SWADDLE STRUCTURE THAT CAN BE CONVERTED TO A FOOTED ROMPER, WHO'S SIZE CAN BE CHANGED

Technical Field

The invention is related to a swaddle configuration that can be used at different ages of a baby.

The swaddle structure can continue to be used by turning it into a sleeping bag type or footed romper after the baby grows and a swaddle is no longer needed. By this means, the usage of more than one swaddle or romper as the baby grows, will be eliminated.

Prior Art

Swaddling is a practice of wrapping infants with cloths so that the movement of the baby is restricted. Swaddling is usually provided by wrapping the baby snugly with a cloth. However nowadays ready to use new generation swaddles are used instead of cloths . In the past it has been observed that bandage like strips have been used for the same process in some cultures. Swaddling which is an ancient process fell out of favor in the 17th century. In time, it's usage in other cultures have gradually decreased.

The physical and psychological effects on the baby due to swaddling have been rather debated. Various findings have been disclosed which set forth that swaddling helped with the sleeping pattern of babies and reduced the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) by enabling babies to sleep on their backs. For this reason the usage of swaddles have gradually increased nowadays .

As some of the classic swaddles had some handicaps they are no longer being used. However modern swaddles can eliminate the handicaps of classic swaddles. For example modern swaddles can be closed by using a zip and therefore this eliminates the risk of hip displacement.

Swaddle usage is however related to only a certain growth phase of the baby. At a certain point, as the baby grows swaddle usage needs o be abandoned.

Actually the period where the swaddle is used is the fastest growing phase of the baby. Due to this reason, the swaddles that are used will be small for the baby after some time and they need to be changed. Moreover swaddles shall be used at a certain growth period of the baby and later on they will be dysfunctional.

In such a case the user may need swaddles with a plurality of sizes in order to swaddle the baby and after a very short period of time the swaddle will no longer be used.

For example the baby will be around 2-6 kg's after birth for 3 months and during this stage one swaddle can be used, however as the baby grows to be 3-6 months of age it's weight will increase to 6-9 kg's and the previous swaddle will be too small for the baby, therefore a new swaddle needs to be used. As one of the basic functions of the swaddle used is to hold the baby tight, it shall not be possible to use the swaddle that is used in the first 3 months, during the 3-6 months period.

During the 6-9 month period the weight of the baby will be between 9-11 kg's and during the 9-24 month period the weight of the baby will be between 9-13 kg's. During this period the baby will not need a swaddle but rather a romper In such a case the swaddle usage will be abandoned and rompers will start to be used.

When said swaddles and rompers are being used, a different product needs to be bought and used at every usage period mentioned above.

The TR 2017/18450 numbered application of the known state of the art can be given as example to the prior art swaddle structures .

The swaddle according to the application numbered 2017/18450; is related to a blanket having a swaddle form, comprising a pouch area where the baby is covered from its chest to its feet, a right wing and a left wing that is wrapped around the baby, and a tying flap located at the end of the left wing, wherein the swaddle enables the baby to be wrapped during sleep by restricting the new born baby's movement similar to the mother's womb, which calms down the baby and ensures that colic symptoms are reduced.

The swaddle form subject to the application numbered 2017/18450 is in the form of a blanket. This allows the swaddle to be able to be used as a blanket after the baby grows out of the swaddle and allows it to be used at a phase besides the swaddling period of the baby. However as the formerly used swaddle structures were made of cloths and textile products, it is understood that this embodiment is not that much different from traditional swaddles.

The swaddle structure subject to the patent application numbered TR 2016/02431 can be given as an example to the prior art. In the related application, a multi-purpose baby equipment that provides sleep and carriage requirements of babies in one product, which can be used as a swaddle, a sleeping bag type romper, carrycot and kangaroo that can be used since the first day of birth, is described.

The aim of the structure subject to the application numbered 2016/02431 is to extend the usage life of the swaddle by enabling it to be used as a multi-purpose product. The structure according to the related application is multi-purpose baby equipment that can be used as a swaddle, a sleeping bag type romper, carrycot and kangaroo, that can be used since the first day of birth and that provides sleep and carriage requirements of babies in one product .

However the structure has been made more complex in order to meet different needs. This situation may create problems during usage and may also increase costs.

The Problems Aimed to be Solved by the Invention

The aim of the invention is to provide a swaddle structure that can be used for different purposes during different growth periods of the baby. By this means, the user is able to enlarge and use the swaddle he/she has purchased as the baby grows and when the swaddle is no longer needed, the user can convert the swaddle into a romper and keep using it .

As the same swaddle can be enlarged in size and converted into a romper, the user will no longer need to spend money on more than one swaddle and romper. By this means the user will be able to use the swaddle he/she has bought for an extended period of time, in other forms.

The swaddle subject to the invention aims to provide multi purpose usage and size enlargement by using a few simple opening elements . As the structure can be used via simple opening elements, both the cost has been reduced and the structure has been made practical.

Description of the Invention

The invention is related to a swaddle structure whose size can be changed and which can be converted into a pouch type sleeping bag and footed romper by opening the arms-legs of the swaddle . The swaddle subject to the invention has been configured with at least an attachment unfastening element (3) in order to enlarge the size of the swaddle body (1) by revealing the additional enlargement part (4). Following the opening of the attachment unfastening element (3) the additional enlargement part (4) inside the element is revealed and by this means inner volume of the swaddle body (1) is enlarged which in turn enlarges the size of the swaddle .

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the attachment unfastening element (3) is in the form of a zip. Therefore as the additional opening enlargement part (4) is hidden under the zip, the size of the swaddle body (1) is in its smallest form. (Figure 1)

After the zip is opened, the additional enlargement part (4) is revealed and the usage volume of the swaddle body (1) is increased. (Figure 2)

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention the attachment unfastening element (3) is positioned at the side edges of the swaddle. In the embodiment where the attachment unfastening element (3) is in the form of a zip, the zip is opened from the sides and the additional enlargement part (4) is revealed.

According to Figure 1 the swaddle body (1) has been configured with a further swaddle opening element (2) . The swaddle opening element (2) describes a simple opening fastening element that can be used in order to position the baby into the swaddle. In the preferred embodiment of the invention the swaddle opening element (2) can be in the form of a zip.

By revealing the additional enlargement part (4) the size of the swaddle is enlarged and the swaddle body (1) can be used both during the 0-3 month period where the weight of the baby is between 2-6kg's and during the 3-6 month period where the weight of the baby increases to be between 6-9 kg's. The user will be able to use the swaddle during the 3-6 month period of the baby, by enlarging the size of the swaddle .

The additional enlargement part (4) according to figure 3, has been provided with leg parts (5) and arm sleeves (6) . The leg parts (5) and the arm sleeves (6) can be used as a footed romper that is required as the baby grows .
