Abstract:
A swash plate compressor configured in such a manner that the friction coefficient between the pistons and the shoes when lubrication is insufficient after the compressor is left unused for a long time period is reduced to prevent seizure during operation and to minimize damage to the sliding flat surfaces of the swash plate. A swash plate compressor is configured in such a manner that a shoe (32) is provided with: flat sliding surfaces (32b) in contact with sliding flat surfaces (30a) of the swash plate (30); and spherical sliding surfaces (32a) formed at positions on the opposite sides of the flat sliding surfaces and in contact with the sliding surfaces (26c) of shoe pockets (26b). Only the spherical sliding surfaces have formed thereon protection layers (71) formed by dispersing a solid lubricating agent in a thermosetting resin which serves as the base material.
