Abstract:

A swash plate (3) comprises a base member (11) consisting of an iron-based material, a hard first resin layer (12) provided so as to cover an end surface of the base member (11), and a soft second resin layer (13) provided so as to cover the first resin layer (12). A helical annular groove (12A) is formed in the surface of the first resin layer (12), and the second resin layer (13) is provided so as to conform to the cross-sectional shape of the first resin layer (12). Because of the presence of the soft second resin layer (13) on the sliding surface (3A) of the swash plate (3), the swash plate (3) has good conformability at the initial stage of sliding. Also, when a part of the second resin layer (13) has worn out, ridges (12) of the first resin layer (12), which consists of a hard resin, are exposed, and this provides the swash plate (3) with good anti-wear properties. Thus, the swash plate (3) having excellent sliding properties is provided.
