Abstract:

It is intended to provide a D-psicose-containing sweetener which comprises D-psicose, a sugar alcohol and/or a high-intensity sweetener (preferably containing D-psicose as the main component) and has improved taste qualities (in particular, a low-caloric sweetener and/or a sweetener imparting a refreshing feel in the oral cavity); and foods, drinks and other sweetened products characterized by being obtained by using the D-psicose-containing sweetener having the improved taste qualities as described above. The sugar alcohol as described above is one or more sugar alcohols selected from the group consisting of sorbitol, mannitol, lactitol, maltitol, xylitol and erythritol. The high-intensity sweetener as described above is one or more high-intensity sweeteners selected from the group consisting of aspartame, acesulfame K, sodium cyclamate, sodium saccharinate, SUCRALOSETM, stevia sweetener, dulcin, thaumatin, neotame and monellin.
