Abstract:
Provided is a switch device in which illumination is carried out in a ring shape on the periphery of a switch operation part (1), wherein provided is a prism for illumination (6) comprising: prism base plates (63) provided between the switching operation part (1) and light sources (5), and on which light from the light sources (5) is incident; and raised wall parts (62) that rise from the prism base plates (63) to the periphery of the switching operation part (1) so that the end faces thereof surround the switching operation part (1) in a ring shape. The prism base plates (63) are formed of a translucent cloudy colored member and diffuse light from the light sources (5), and the raised wall parts (62) are formed of a translucent member and guide light diffused by the prism base plates (63) to the end faces, and as a result, there is no fluctuation in the light, a difference in luminance between the prism base plates (63) behind the switching operation part (1) and ring illumination parts (61) in the periphery of the switching operation part (1) is eliminated, and the periphery of the switching operation part (1) is brightly illuminated in a uniform manner from any viewing angle; therefore, visibility and design characteristics can be improved.
